Japanese photographer Hara Yoshiichi's photo book Boku no Gypsy Rose (My Gypsy Rose) Since the 1980s, Hara Yoshiichi has produced many lyrical works full of Japanese sentiment and humanity, such as portraits of strippers, geisha and other outsiders, Since 2000, he has been energetically presenting emotional works that straddle dreams and reality, transforming his traditional style with works such as ‘The Darkness of the Present’, ‘While There is Light’ and ‘The Everlasting Insect’. This book is a photo-essay published two years before his major work ‘The Stripper's Pictorial Book’, which was self-published in 1982. It is a personal documentary edited and composed of illustrations of striptease taken by the photographer, who thought about the late legendary stripper ‘Gypsy Rose’, who triggered his attraction to the world of striptease. Bound by graphic designer Kohei Sugiura, the book is part of Yagenbura's Yagenbura selection.
