Jeanloup Sieff
Jeanloup Sieff
Parco Publishing/1987/japanese/210*260*10
A collection of the work of Jean-Lou Schieffe, one of France's leading photographers, born in Paris in 1933, Schieffe began his career as a photographer in earnest in the 1950s, during the heyday of reportage. He was a member of the early Magnum group of photographers who were recognised for their solid skills, and was also a photojournalist who was awarded the Niepce Prize in 1959. He was also awarded the Niepce Prize in 1959. However, Schieff's focus shifted to the world of fashion in search of greater freedom of expression, and he became one of the top fashion photographers in Paris, following in the avant-garde spirit of Man Ray and others. This book is a compilation of Schiff's conceptual and avant-garde work based on ‘fashion’, ‘portraiture’ and ‘nudes’.
