Dr. R. Krügener Teddy folding camera for 9x12 cm plates, circa 1903, with a wooden black leather‑covered body and a red/bordeaux bellows, central shutter that functions, overall very good condition, includes an original black leather rigid case, three metal plate holders, and the original box.
Description from the seller
In Asta, a piece of early twentieth-century German photography history: a Dr. R. Krügener Teddy, produced in Frankfurt around 1903. This bellows camera for 9x12 cm plates is a refined example of the production by Dr. Rudolf Krügener, one of the pioneers who contributed to the founding of Zeiss Ikon in 1926.
The camera is distinguished by its characteristic red leather bellows (bordeaux) and its construction in high-quality black wood and leather. It features a lens with a central shutter and adjustable exposure times, a system that at the time represented an excellent standard for advanced amateur photographers.
An object of great aesthetic charm, ideal for display or to enrich a collection of optical and folding benches from the Guglielmina era.
