2 Euro Commemorative Monaco 2021 – Proof (Mirror Finish)
10th wedding anniversary of Prince Albert II and Charlene of Monaco
2021 marks the tenth wedding anniversary of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Charlène Wittstock, celebrated on July 1, 2011.
Ten years after the first commemorative 2 euro coin dedicated to the wedding event, the Principality wanted to pay tribute to this anniversary with a new and prestigious issue in a very limited edition of only 15,000 specimens, minted in Proof quality (Fondo Specchio) and presented in an official case with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
On the obverse, the double portrait of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco is depicted, facing right, accompanied by the inscriptions MONACO at the top and 2011–2021 ROYAL MARRIAGE at the bottom.
Along the outer edge, the twelve stars of the European Union are engraved.
This coin takes on an even more symbolic significance as its issuance coincides with a difficult period for Princess Charlène, who is engaged in a delicate health journey away from the Principality.
