Description from the seller
Conceptual sculpture – Sealed Speed – McLaren MP4/5 – Gerhard Berger – 1991
There is a car that lived in the shadow of a myth, but left an indelible mark in the history of Formula 1.
It is the McLaren MP4/5, the star of an unrepeatable era. And in that seat, in 1991, sat Gerhard Berger: fast, ironic, tireless, teammate of the greatest, but never second to anyone.
Honda V10 engine, rigid chassis, unmistakable white and red Marlboro livery: the MP4/5 was a car that was both brutal and refined. Berger drove it with courage, achieving poles, podiums, and unforgettable moments in a championship dominated by the internal duel with Ayrton Senna.
This conceptual sculpture – Velocità Sigillata captures its pure essence: a low and sharp silhouette, aerodynamically sculpted for victory, suspended in crystalline resin as a living memory of an era when Formula 1 was still analog, human, and extreme.
Unique numbered piece, this work is a tribute to the talent and grit of Gerhard Berger, to the strength of a symbolic machine, and to a season in which every race was a legend in the making.
A sculpture that embodies the perfect balance of technique, character, and passion.
Sealed. Forever.
