Description from the seller

Glazed ceramic vessel intended to contain wine or water and used domestically. This pot made of a greenish glaze is preserved in a masterly way being one of the best examples of Parthia art, which consists of a mixture of Persian and Hellenistic influences. Parthia was an empire in the territory of present-day Iran founded by the births in the third century B.C.

*Some glazing missing on the lower part; Bluish traces of polychromy; light dented surface

Provenance: Jesús Vico Gallery, Spain, 2014; Former Pablo H. Goizauskas Collection, Spain, 2022-2025

Exhibited: Ifergan Collection, Málaga (2018-2020)
