Description from the seller
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: 'The Silly Song' Happy Rough Animation Drawing by Disney Legend Bill Tytla (Walt Disney, 1937) + CERTIFICATE
'Ho-hum, the tune is dumb, the words don't mean a thing. Isn't this a silly song for anyone to sing?' Happy serenades Snow White in this spectacularly rare 12-field, 5-peghole rough animation drawing from 'The Silly Song' sequence of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is a full figure, rendered in graphite with color pencil, featuring this jolly dwarf centered on the page. It most closely resembles the dance Happy performs around 52:54 as the dwarfs dance with Snow in their cottage. This incredible drawing was created by Disney Legend inductee Bill Tytla (1904–1968), who played a significant role in designing Disney's first animated feature and helped shape the dwarfs into the characters we know and love today. It is in very good condition, with light age-related toning, holes added for binder storage, and faint edge and handling wear.
The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.
Size: 39 x 32 cm
The drawing is sold with a certificate of authenticity including four levels of security.
