Two books on American Photographers from the great age of black-and-white photography:
1. Walker Evans - AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHS - New York, MOMA, 1988 - 50th anniversary edition - 205pp - cloth, dustjacket - 23x20cm.
First published 1938, reprinted in 1962. This edition published on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
All plates printed from the original prints, in duo-tone, single-sided.
In fine condition.
2. Gilles Mora and Beverly Brennan - FSA, The American Vision - New York, Abrams, 2006 - first edition - 358pp - boards, dustjacket - 31x25cm.
In 1935, the US Farm Security Administration commisioned a group of young photographers, including Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans, Ben Shahn, Arthur Rothstein, Gordon Parks and others to record America's cultural and economic conditions during the Great Depression.
This book reproduces hundreds of their photographs.
