Description from the seller

Bucchero is a type of black ceramic characteristic of the Etruscan civilization, developed between the 7th and 5th centuries BC.
This ceramic is known for its glossy black appearance, achieved through a reduction firing process that transforms the clay into black terracotta.
Often decorated with simple geometric motifs, this traditional craft highlighted the concepts of simplicity and elegance of form.
Bucchero represents an important testimony of Etruscan art and culture.
Their production technique demonstrates the high level of craftsmanship achieved by the Etruscans and their capacity for technological innovation.
Furthermore, the spread of Bucchero in the Mediterranean area highlights the importance of the Etruscans in the trade and cultural exchanges of the time.
This Kantharos is decorated with geometric graffiti on both sides, features 3 Aryballoi, one handle, and 3 stoppers inserted into the other handle.
Height 37cm, mouth diameter 31cm, base diameter 15cm, maximum width from handle to handle 36.5cm.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
