Description from the seller
Kept in its original cassette, this silver-plated cutlery set is of the Progression model. This model was designed in 1950 by Georg Nillson for the Gerofabriek and remained in production until 1965. The design still shows the pre-war Art Deco influences typical of Nilsson, although it is also clear that this era is now definitively behind us. The shape is rounder, more streamlined.
The cassette is overcomplete and contains not only a 6-piece cutlery set but also numerous additional items.
Consisting of:
6 tablespoons (21.1 cm)
- 6 dinner plates (22.5 cm)
6 messenger bags (7.3 cm)
- 6 dinner plates (20cm)
6 appetizer/breakfast spoons (17.3 cm)
- 6 appetizer/breakfast knives (21.5cm)
6 appetizer/breakfast forks (17.3 cm)
5 cake forks
4 teaspoons
Service specification
Soeplepel
sauce ladle
2 vegetable spoons.
- Potato spoon
Vlalepel
sauce spoon
- Trancheerset (meat knife + meat fork)
Salad cutlery set (salad spoon + salad fork)
jam spoon
cheese slicer
Cake scoop
3 meat forks
4-piece hors d'oeuvre cutlery set
There is a separate Gero storage box available for the appetizer/breakfast meats.
The cutlery is in good, used condition. There are mainly light scratches and (to be polished) oxidation of the silver visible. The cassette itself is in very good condition on the inside, but the outside is reasonably worn, and one hinge of the lid is somewhat loose.
In the last photo, the cutlery model can be seen in an advertisement by Gero from the 1950s.
