French fascicle Petit XX, dating from 23 April 1931, with cover drawn by Hergé; a single copy published in 1931, in good condition with a small discreet tear at the bottom of the cover and on one inner page.
Description from the seller
Rare issue from April 23, 1931, with a very beautiful cover by Hergé, featuring the Scout Movement week from April 19 to 26, 1931.
This booklet is very difficult to find, yet it occupies a central place in the entire 'Hergé Illustrator' collection because it represents the entire spirit developed by Hergé and Abbé Wallez when they implemented this 'Petit XX' supplement for the Catholic youth of the time, thus creating 'The Adventures of Tintin and Snowy'.
This booklet is in very good condition. It features a centerfold with the famous scene of the Leopard and the siphon, plus the mirror.
Another rare booklet since it is not available with the subscriptions to 'Petit Vingtième'.
Note a small tear, very discreet, on the bottom of the cover and on the bottom of an inner page (see photo).
For specialists in 'Hergé Illustrator,' it can be noted that Hergé revisited a story and two of his illustrations that he published on Sundays in 'Le Journal Artistique et littéraire'...: 'A Story of Boots.'
