Louis Poulsen Albertslund Loft Lamp in metal and frosted glass, designed by Jens Møller-Jensen for Denmark, dating to 1980–1990, with a Saturn ring and glare protection, good used condition with minor ageing and no bulb included, model albertslund, packed with track and trace and bearing the manufacturer's mark.
Description from the seller
The Loft Lamp from Louis Poulsen creates a characteristic, symmetrical and functional light. The Saturn ring reflects the light downwards, while its placement allows the light to penetrate and creates a soft upward light. The glare protection ring prevents horizontal glare, and the glass shade is frosted glass, so it matches the choice of bulb.
Albertslund was designed in 1963 by Jens Møller-Jensen for a residential area in Albertslund.
Albertslund has a simple lighting technique, but with great effect.
Jens Møller-Jensen was born and raised in Copenhagen. In 1964 he graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in Copenhagen. After his studies, Jensen became the head of the workshop at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, and in 1967 he started his own design company.
Over the years he has created a number of industrial designs, including televisions for Bang & Olufsen.
His most famous work for Louis Poulsen is the Albertslund lamp, which has been used for four decades all over the world. The design also earned Jensen the Danish Design Classic Award in 2000.
Since 1995, Jensen's designs have been part of the exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His work is characterized by his craftsmanship.
Description:
No dents and few scratches. Slightly porous/worn rubber strip. This has no effect on the function of the lamp.
The lamp has a manufacturer's mark.
Sent without bulb.
The lamp is packed well with track and trace.
