Alfredo Barbini - Centrepiece - Murano glass - Vintage

Large and heavy Murano glass centerpiece by Alfredo Barbini, from the 1960s. Signed at the base and with a adhesive label on the edge. Made of transparent glass, with a fluid and organic shape typical of Murano pieces from that era, it has impressive dimensions. The transparency of the glass makes it an elegant and timeless collectible item, and its condition is remarkable for a vintage piece. The engraved signature 'Barbini' at the base certifies its provenance.

The centerpiece is made of solid clear glass, a technique that requires working at lower temperatures and allows the glassmaker to shape the form with greater flexibility before it solidifies.
It presents an organic, fluid, and asymmetrical shape, often described as a drop, lens, or oval. The edges are thick and slightly taper outward.
