Description from the seller

A very beautiful truncated conical vase with a carination, shaped on a wheel. Merovingian ceramic in satin black with a flat base, the upper part of which bears a geometric decoration made using roulettes.
From the Merovingian period, 5th to 6th century AD.
The Merovingian era succeeded the late Roman era (3rd-5th centuries).
Intact piece in perfect condition, diameter 12/13 cm - height 11 cm
Provenance: France. Private collection acquired from a gallery/antique dealer. Previously part of an old French collection of Merovingian and Roman ceramics, private collection.
Package tracked and insured.
