Description from the seller

A very fine Merovingian vase in dark terracotta, wheel-thrown. This Merovingian ceramic has a biconical body, decorated with fine raised bands and parallel lines on the upper part, and a flat base.
From the Merovingian period, 4th to 6th century AD.
The Merovingian era succeeded the late Roman era (3rd-5th centuries).
Piece in perfect condition, with a chip and a slight crack, 12 cm in diameter - 11 cm high
Inside, an old label bearing the inscription "M VD"
Provenance: France. Private collection acquired from a gallery/antique dealer. Previously part of an old French collection of Merovingian and Roman ceramics, private collection.
Package tracked and insured.
