Description from the seller
A vertical sculpture crafted from a solid block of fossiliferous rock containing numerous specimens of Orthoceras, extinct marine cephalopods that lived approximately 400 million years ago, during the Devonian Period. Native to the fossil regions of Morocco, this stone was sculpted and polished by hand following sinuous, slender lines that amplify the verticality of the form and highlight the internal fossil veining.
The visual effect is powerful and sculptural: the fossilized shells, elongated and with clearly visible segments, alternate between deep, glossy blacks and whitish highlights, creating a unique natural contrast. A fossilized witness takes on a new artistic life, becoming a furnishing element that blends contemporary design and geological history.
Each tower is unique, with authentic fossils embedded in the rock matrix and arranged in a natural pattern. The craftsmanship enhances their three-dimensionality, making them a fragment of the ancient sea in any contemporary space.
