Netherlands Medals 2014 (4) - Milestones of Willem-Alexander's early reign
A set of four modern commemorative pieces issued for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, each struck in prooflike silver-coloured metal and presented in individual display cases.
Obverse:
Identical across all four pieces, featuring the crowned Dutch coat of arms placed at the centre of a cross, with four heraldic lions in the surrounding quadrants. Around the border appears the inscription “KONINKRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN – JE MAINTIENDRAI”.
Reverse:
Each piece carries a different commemorative reverse design:
State Visit to Japan (2014) — Portraits of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, a torii gate, and the Japanese flag; dated 29–31 October 2014.
Unveiling of the Restored Golden Coach (16 March 2015) — Portraits of the royal couple with a coloured depiction of the Golden Coach.
200 Years of the Royal Title ‘King of the Netherlands’ (1815–2015) — Portraits of King Willem I and King Willem-Alexander beneath the royal crown; dated 16 March 2015.
State Visit to the Republic of Korea (2014) — Portraits of the King and Queen with the Korean flag; dated 3–4 November 2014.
