Impressive Dutch fully demountable oak and wrought‑iron cabinet in Renaissance antique style, dating to 1950–1960, 183 cm high, 172 cm wide, 60 cm deep, weighing 100 kg, can be locked with supplied keys, in very good condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
This is an impressive, heavily crafted Dutch cabinet in a historical style, fully dismantlable and exceptionally solidly constructed. The cabinet was made in the mid-20th century, inspired by 17th/18th-century examples, but without gaps or open joints: everything closes tightly and seamlessly.
Beautiful oak double-door cabinet in historic style, very heavy and robustly constructed.
The cabinet stands on round legs, has a broadly profiled cornice, and beautifully shaped panels with Gothic arches and wrought iron fittings and hinges.
The cabinet is fully dismantlable (lid, body, doors, and base), which greatly facilitates transport and installation in any home.
The construction is solid, with precise machine-made dovetail joints on the drawers, solid oak panels, and sturdy internal structures; no warping or deformation, all parts fit together smoothly and seamlessly.
Inside, there are several solid wood planks and a drawer; all the planks rest on supports, making it easy to adjust the layout as desired.
The internal depth is approximately 47 cm, making the cabinet suitable for linens, dishes, clothing, or other storage.
The general condition is very good, with only minor signs of use appropriate for the age: some scratches and discolorations and a few stains on the planks, but no structural damage.
There are no gaps or loose connections, the doors hang straight, close properly, and the furniture feels extremely sturdy and heavy.
The original keys were no longer available, but suitable, working keys have been provided that allow the cabinet to be locked again.
The wrought iron lock and fittings are functional and complement the character of the cabinet.
On the back, there is an old order card with the initials “JHB” and customer name, indicating high-quality Dutch factory work from the mid-20th century in 17th/18th-century style.
The exact factory cannot be determined with certainty; stylistically and technically, it is clearly a post-war, very solid reproduction of a classic Dutch cabinet.
