Antique French Louis XV style commode from the first half of the 20th century, made of root walnut wood with cabriole legs and floral inlay details.
Description from the seller
Antique chest of drawers in Louis XV style with claw feet and floral hardware decoration, 20th century.
Elegant wooden dresser crafted in the graceful Louis XV style, characterized by curved lines, refined ornamentation, and a light-footed appearance. The furniture is made from solid walnut wood with a rich dark brown patina and vibrant grain structure, emphasizing its handcrafted character.
The front features three spacious drawers, each equipped with double-mounted floral pull fittings in oxidized metal, inspired by rocaille and acanthus motifs. The drawer fronts and lower rail are subtly profiled and decorated with hand-stitched scrollwork, characteristic of the rococo influences within the Louis XV style.
The side panels are lightly bombeered and flow elegantly into the cabriole legs, which end in finely carved claw feet. This combination of flowing lines and decorative details gives the furniture a graceful and aristocratic appearance.
Constructive is the comfortably built piece, constructed with traditional dovetail joints and a neat finish on the back – suitable for free-standing placement. The furniture is in good vintage condition with slight signs of use appropriate for its age!
