Description from the seller
Table lamp LUPELA, cataloged as the Cobra model from the 1960s. Designed by Fernando Perez de la Oliva and Jose Luís Gugel Sancha for Lupela España. Its futuristic design and articulated structure give it a unique character.
The company LUPELA was created by LUis PErez LAnzas (abbreviation). Luis had two children: Fernando Perez de la Oliva, who later registered the trademark LUPELA, and Luis Pérez de la Oliva, who founded the well-known company FASE with another partner. Fernando bought the manufacturing rights for five lamps by designer Jose Luis Gugel Sacha: Reina, Cobra, 225, 226, and Cisne, and agreed with his brother Luis Perez de la Oliva that FASE would not manufacture articulated lamps. The rest is history: the brothers did not honor the pact, and FASE designed and produced desk lamps inspired by LUPELA models.
The lamp I'm auctioning is the most sought-after of all LUPELA lamps: the COBRA model in Corinthian red. This particular model is a work of art. Few units are on the market. The shade features a glass diffuser and can rotate in any direction. Absolutely every part of the lamp is original, except for the socket.
The lamp functions correctly. The lamp is in a vintage condition and shows signs of use. Please carefully review the photographs as they are part of the product description.
