It is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on May 27, 1963, by Columbia Records. While his debut album Bob Dylan contained only two original songs, The Freewheelin' represented the beginning of Dylan's writing contemporary lyrics to traditional melodies. Eleven of the album's thirteen songs are original compositions by Dylan. The album opens with "Blowin' in the Wind," which became a 1960s anthem.

Don Hunstein's iconic photographs have become symbols of an era. Don's work during his 30 years at Columbia Records is unmatched; he was able to record many great moments in music history like this one.
