Published in 1787/1788 in the 'Atlas Encyclopedique, containing.........' in Paris, Hôtel de Thou, by Rigobert Bonne and Nicolas Desmarest. Engraver: André.
Rigobert Bonne was the head of the cartography department of the French Marine from 1775 to 1789. He was known as a skilled cartographer and mathematician.
Nicolas Desmarest was a famous geologist and cartographer. He is best known for his geological mapping of the Auvergne. There, he created very detailed maps of the basalt formation and (former) lava flows.
