Megalodon - Fossil tooth - 9.41 cm (No reserve price)

→ 9.41 cm long x 7.27 cm wide Megalodon teeth

It a medium size Megalodon teeth with nice prominent bourlette and orange/golden/dark colors on the root. The presence of such orangish color indicate presence of Iron(Fe) compounds during the prolonged fossilization process of around 13 Million years average. The megalodon lived 23 to 3.6 million years ago, from the Early Miocene to the Early Pliocene epochs. The serrations and body has nice & have nice shape with pointed profile. Another interesting feature is the fact that towards the tip of the teeth there is a transition for organish color to light color especially on the back side.

There is re-enforcement and restoration work done on the root by adding some extra material making sure that original shape of fossil is least disturbed while at the same time the job is done well so that the fossil becomes long lasting
