Description from the seller

Pair of wall-mounted soap holders in solid bronze – Stylized dolphin motif – Rococo style – Early 20th century

Spectacular and rare set of two wall soap dishes in solid bronze, richly crafted in the Rococo style, with floral ornamentation and exuberant scrollwork. Each piece features a shell-shaped basin supported by a stylized dolphin figure, typical of French and Italian decoration from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The pieces display a very beautiful antique patina, with areas of greenish-blue oxidation (verdete) that confirm the authenticity of the bronze and reinforce the decorative and collectible character of the set.

Features:
Material: solid bronze
• Style: Rococo / Neo-Baroque
Decor: stylized dolphin + scallop shell
Period: circa 1900–1930
Mounting: Ready for wall installation.

Approximate dimensions (each piece):
Shell width: 15–16 cm
Total height: 17–18 cm
Depth: 14–15 cm
• Solid weight (each): thick and heavy bronze.

Condition
Good overall condition for its age, with natural patina, signs of age, and decorative oxidation marks. It has not been cleaned to preserve the original antique appearance, leaving it to the buyer's discretion to polish or maintain the historic patina.

Ideal pieces for:
Classic decor
Vintage or renovated bathrooms with charm
Boutique hotels and themed spaces
Collectors of antique bronze and European decorative art

Seller's Story

I am passionate about art, antiques, and decorative objects with historical and aesthetic value. I carefully select unique pieces for auction, prioritizing those that stand out for their originality, quality, and history. I have a special affinity for antique mirrors inspired by the work of Alphonse Mucha, acquired from private collections and antique shops in Portugal and France. I also place great importance on pieces made of carved wood, especially in gilded relief, which represent the refinement and craftsmanship of classical decorative arts.
