Device Description
────────────────────────────
Beogram 7000 is a fully automatic turntable by Bang & Olufsen with a tangential arm, designed to best protect vinyl records while extracting the maximum musical information from them.
Tangential arm with the OPP (Optimal/Optimum Pivot Point) system.
Integrated MMC 2 insert weighing only 1.6 g
Pendulum-mounted chassis that isolates external vibrations
Built-in RIAA preamplifier – ready to connect to most amplifiers / tuners.
Full automation + remote control via Beolink 7000
In the mid-1990s, the CD replaced vinyl in the mass market, making the Beogram 7000 the last turntable in Bang & Olufsen's long line of high-end designs. Today, it is a blend of audiophile sound, excellent design, and collector's value.
────────────────────────────
Technology and Sound
────────────────────────────
MMC insert 2
Net weight only 1.6 g
Very high vulnerability and low effective mass of the end.
Minimal plate consumption thanks to excellent tracking ability.
Diamond tip with a linear contact surface ensuring perfect contact with the groove walls.
The MMC (Moving Micro Cross) principle guarantees:
high channel separation, especially in the bass
low distortions
Minimal differences between channels
In practice, this means pure, spatial sound, a great stereo scene, and very gentle handling of records.
────────────────────────────
Arm, suspension, anti-vibration
────────────────────────────
The MMC 2 insert was installed in the cooling (tangential) arm, which practically eliminates tracking errors.
Arm equipped with a unique Optimum Pivot Point.
Sub-chassis with a pendulum suspension (3 pendulums + leaf springs)
Resonance of the internal enclosure: approximately 5–6 Hz.
Armature optimized for resonance at 10–15 Hz.
The horizontal axis of movement of the arm is located behind the vertical axis and behind the center of gravity. When vibrations occur at the pivot point, the rear part of the arm with the counterweight moves, while the needle practically remains at rest in the center of vibrations. The effect: resistance to shocks and disturbances from the environment.
────────────────────────────
Handling and safety of plates
────────────────────────────
The Beogram 7000 was designed to operate similarly to modern sources in the system:
Control via Beolink 7000
The turntable automatically recognizes the size of the record and selects the appropriate speed (33 or 45 rpm).
If the disc is not on the tray, playback will not start.
The insert can only be lowered if a plate is on the turntable.
With Beolink control, there is no risk of accidentally moving the needle beyond the record.
The entire device logic has been carefully designed to maximally protect vinyl records and the cartridge from accidental damage.
────────────────────────────
For whom?
────────────────────────────
Beogram 7000 will be ideal for:
collector of Bang & Olufsen equipment
an enthusiast of tangential arms and refined mechanics
A person who wants to combine 90s design aesthetics with audiophile sound quality.
user of the Beosystem 7000 system (perfect visual and functional fit)
────────────────────────────
Summary
────────────────────────────
