【Description】
The Mercedes CLK-GTR dominated the 1997 and 1998 seasons of the FIA-GT championship, then gave birth to a small series of road cars made by the AMG subsidiary, with the palm of rarity attributed to the roadster. Soon withdrawn from competition, the CLK-GTR found itself confined to the world of collectors. Starting from December 1998, the manufacturing of the road was started in Affalterbach at the AMG, which was definitively taken over by Mercedes starting from 1 January 1999. At first sight the road CLK-GTR resembled the racing GT, but the aerodynamics were different, as well as the mechanics of course. The 6898cc 12-cylinder engine developed 612 horsepower on the road, which was produced in 25 units between 1998 and 1998, to which 6 roadsters were added in 2002.
