Model boat - San Felipe

The 'San Felipe,' launched in 1690, was built with a focus on great agility and maneuverability. It was considered one of the most beautiful Spanish ships ever built, and its broad sails and slender profile gave it significant advantages over its rivals. With its 104 cannons and serving as the flagship of the Spanish Armada, the San Felipe engaged in battle with the most powerful British and French ships of that era.
The 'San Felipe' was tasked with protecting the Spanish settlements and ports against the English and French. The San Felipe also had to transport treasure and secure the passage to the Spanish ports.
San Felipe played an important role in the war of 1705, participating in a fierce 24-hour battle between 35 British ships and 12 Spanish ships. With only 4 Spanish ships lost compared to 9 British ships, this was considered a victory for Spain. San Felipe sank two ships of the line and a frigate, but was unfortunately captured by the British. The legendary Spanish ship ultimately sank to the ocean floor, along with many tons of gold.

The model is in new condition and is packaged in a box with the following dimensions: 80 cm x 70 cm x 30 cm.
