Beige hard-stone Babylonian cylinder seal dating to the 2nd/1st millennium BC, with a figure flanked by two stylised birds, 2.8 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, in good condition and examined by Prof. Wilfrid G. Lambert; acquired in 2023 from the UK market.

Babylonian Cylinder Seal
Beige hard stone cylinder seal dating from the 2nd/1st millennium BC.
The seal features a design of a character flanked by two stylized birds.
Length 2.8 cm - diameter 1.1 cm
Previously in a collection assembled in the British/International art market in the 1990s.
Examined by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert FBA (1926-2011), a historian, archaeologist, and specialist in Assyriology and Near Eastern archaeology, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Perfect condition - delivered with a polymer imprint.
The seller can prove that the lot was legally obtained, statement of provenance seen by Catawiki.
