Description from the seller
Medieval Period – Lot of 4 Iron Crossbow Bolt Arrowheads
Europe, c. 13th–15th century AD
A genuine lot of four medieval iron crossbow bolt heads, mounted and presented in a modern protective display case.
The group consists of four forged iron points of varying profiles, including narrow bodkin-style forms and broader penetrating types, all characteristic of medieval crossbow ammunition. Such bolts were designed for use against mail armour and padded defences and were widely employed throughout Europe during the High to Late Medieval period.
Each example displays a strong natural patina and surface oxidation, consistent with age and burial conditions. The variation in shape reflects different functional designs and possibly regional or chronological differences in manufacture.
