Description from the seller

➜ This decorative box is crafted in the style of ancient Egyptian ritual and cosmetic containers, featuring a winged goddess motif symbolising protection and rebirth. The sides are adorned with Egyptian iconography, including the ankh symbol and stylised hieroglyphs, evoking the visual language of temple and tomb art.

The surface is finished with a traditional coating, a mineral-based finish historically used in ancient and classical contexts. This technique creates a soft, chalky appearance and a naturally aged surface where light handling may gently reveal the underlying tones, contributing to its authentic, time-worn character. This is a stylistic and intentional feature of the finish, not a flaw.

The lid is decorated with hieroglyphic-style inscriptions and topped with a raised green element inspired by faience and stone inlays seen on ancient Egyptian objects. The interior is left plain, suitable for storing small personal items, jewellery, or keepsakes.

Overall wear, surface variation, and minor rubbing are consistent with a historically inspired, hand-finished piece and enhance its decorative and collectible appeal.
