Starburst Jasper's origin is Mexico, where the rhyolite stone formed from volcanic ash deposits cooling under heat and pressure, causing crystals to align into star-like patterns. The unusual pattern of the stone occurs as the magma cools, creating white, star-shaped arrangements on a brown background. Although known as Jasper, Starburst Jasper is scientifically classified as a type of rhyolite, a fine-grained igneous rock.
