An unguentarium of colourless translucent glass with a bulbous body and flat base, a long cylindrical neck and an inward-folded flattened lip, dating to the 1st–3rd century AD from the Roman Empire, provenance from the D.A. Brussels collection, in excellent intact condition, dimensions 122 × 68 × 68 mm, with Louvre reference in the literature.
Description from the seller
Colorless translucent glass unguentarium featuring a bulbous body with a flat bottom. It has a long cylindrical neck narrowed at the base, as well as a flattened lip folded inward.
The bottle shows light traces of silver to gold iridescence, extending to a silvery-blue iridescence at the neck, as well as on the outer part of the lip. Earthy deposits are present on the inside of the glass.
