Description from the seller

And the responding angel said to him, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

No one is a prophet in their own land, as the saying goes. It is in our hands to ensure that creative capacity is not stifled or propelled outside our borders (as happened to painter Juan Barjola), due to the ignorance of some and the subjugation of others.

Critical thinking is seduced by genius, seeking to adopt the perspective of JAM Montoya, to understand the person behind an objective that shapes feelings such as pain, loneliness, and agony, which, intertwined with sex, awaken in the viewer what they believed was dormant.

If we feel the urgent need to describe with words something that escapes the material, the everyday nature of objects, something that takes more than our skin, that tears us apart until we are almost left dying, it is more than likely that we are facing the work of JAM Montoya.

Born in Extremadura (Spain), and with absolute conviction of wanting to be a photographer at just sixteen years old, he declares this artistic discipline as 'the meaning of his life.' A meaning that, unfortunately, has not resonated in his homeland (Badajoz), causing the author a bittersweet feeling.

For Montoya, photography becomes an 'existential therapy.' When he doesn't take photos, he's 'screwed'; however, if he does, he describes his life as 'permanent nirvana.'
