Photographer Yoshiro Koseki's collection ‘Kujukuri Beach’. Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1935 and raised on Kujukuri Beach, Yoshiro Koseki has continued photographing this area as his lifelong work for many years. After graduating from the new junior high school system, he worked at a bicycle shop for about six years while beginning photography in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he published numerous works in ‘Camera Mainichi’ and ‘Asahi Camera’. In 1967, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own camera shop. Alongside this business, he continued capturing scenes of daily life, local customs, and festivals throughout Chiba Prefecture. His first book, Kujukuri Beach, was published in 1972, earning him the Japan Photographic Society Newcomer Award.
