Antique walking stick with a metallic core – Covering in natural material worked – Late 19th / early 20th century
Description
Antique walking stick, handcrafted, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The stick is equipped with a continuous internal metallic core, visible at a point of natural wear of the coating, which attests to its quality of construction and its intended use, both functional and ornamental.
The shaft is covered in natural material worked into rings and segments (likely horn or bone), with characteristic two-tone decoration and a slightly sinuous shape.
The spherical knob is made of hard ebonized wood, turned, and features a natural crack due to age, consistent with the object's age.
