Mortar - Bronze - Ribbing mill 17th century

A beautiful 17th-century bronze mortar, decorated on the side wall with four ribs, each shaped like two stacked half-moons with four angel heads in between. Furthermore, the mortar features a wide overhanging top rim and a profiled foot rim.
The ribs were intended to provide better grip when using the mortar.
Considering its age and usage history, it is in good and beautifully worn condition with a lovely aged patina.
