Welcome to Utama Art Indonesia. This collection was born from a deep personal connection with Indonesia. My family history traces back to the former Dutch East Indies, where several generations of my family lived and worked. Indonesia has therefore always been part of my family's story, inspiring a lasting appreciation for its art, culture and craftsmanship. Utama means “the highest”, “the best” or “the most valuable” in Indonesian. For me, it represents respect: respect for craftsmanship, for cultural heritage, and for the stories carried by each sculpture. Every auction is curated as a four-part narrative, bringing together spirituality, character, mythology, daily life and exceptional craftsmanship. Particular attention is given to authentic Balinese sculpture, outstanding carving quality and the enduring influence of Balinese Art Deco. Each object is personally selected, professionally presented and securely shipped within the European Union. Every piece forms part of a broader story that aims to honour both the artistic and cultural significance of Indonesian craftsmanship.
