Remarkable Japanese Samurai Sword Katana Tachibana Kiyokane NBTHK Hozon Nagakute-sumi Tachibana Kiyokane is a swordsmith from Aichi Prefecture, born in Meiji 40. His real name was Tsutsui Seiichi, and he forged swords in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, under the name Shiirosai. Kiyokane is a descendant of Hosokawa Masayoshi's son, Isogaya Jyusuke, or Isogai Jyuyoshitatsu, a samurai of the Okazaki Domain and a swordsmith from the domain in the late Edo period (1854), and Yoshitatsu's son, Ryujoko Yoshitatsu. Born in 1907, he is a disciple of Kurihara Akihide, who served as a member of the Diet and trained many master swordsmiths, and is a disciple of Living National Treasure Miyairi Akihei. Kiyokane and his father , Tsutsui Seiichi the First, Ichirobei Kiyokane served the Okazaki Samurai well. Both where Samurai and swordmaster with high skills swords made by them are highly recarded perfect balance. This is a remarkable katana with a wonderful Horimono (carving) on both side's of the blade its just stunning. Maby its better to say perfect the details are amazing. Blade is in excellent condition with a great hammon. The koshirae is very well made and has nice dragon details on tsuba amd silver mounting This is a sword that i recommend for your collection its a must have. Remarkable Japanese Samurai Sword Katana Tachibana Kiyokane NBTHK Hozon

Nagakute-sumi Tachibana Kiyokane is a swordsmith from Aichi Prefecture, born in Meiji 40.
His real name was Tsutsui Seiichi, and he forged swords in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, under the name Shiirosai.
