The figure is shown gently touching her hair, as if adjusting her hairstyle or checking her hair ornament, conveying a quiet sense of intimacy and grace. The upper kimono is finished in near-solid black, creating a striking contrast with the porcelain-like white complexion of the figure. The obi is woven in silver-toned kinran brocade decorated with floral arabesque motifs, lending a formal and dignified presence. From the hem, the inner garment is visible, made from vividly dyed yuzen fabric decorated with bamboo and floral designs, carefully balanced against the dark outer robe. The traditional Japanese coiffure is elaborately styled and adorned with tortoiseshell-coloured hairpins. A bead ornament inspired by coral adds a subtle accent, and the rear view is finished with equal attention to detail. The accompanying red andon lantern enhances the atmosphere of the scene and completes the composition. There are small tears, wrinkles, and light staining to the washi paper panels of the lantern. Staining is present along the hem of the kimono. The left hand shows several small surface indentations. Overall, fair to good used condition. Please refer to the photos for details.
