This Seiko Lord Matic, reference 5606-7190, was manufactured in 1972 and represents the mature stage of Seiko’s high-grade mechanical watchmaking. By the early 1970s, Seiko had fully established itself as a world-class manufacturer of mechanical watches. The Lord Matic line occupied an important position in this period, placed directly below King Seiko and designed as a refined automatic watch for everyday use, combining technical sophistication with understated elegance. The watch is powered by the in-house automatic Caliber 5606, a movement that reflects Seiko’s engineering confidence at the time. With hacking seconds and a day-date display, this caliber was designed for users who valued both functionality and precision, and it became one of the defining movements of Seiko’s early-1970s lineup. At the time of listing, the watch is running. The silver dial features a fine sunburst finish that softly reacts to light, creating a calm and dignified impression. Applied indices and a clean dial layout emphasize legibility and balance, while the restrained case design reflects Seiko’s philosophy during this era: practicality refined by careful proportion rather than excessive decoration. The quickset function is not working. Day and date can be adjusted by rotating the hands. The day display is bilingual (English / Japanese). The day-date window frame is missing. A new leather strap is currently installed for comfortable wear. The original Seiko LM stainless steel bracelet is included and will be shipped together. As a vintage item, the watch was running at the time of listing; however, stable continuous operation and time accuracy are not guaranteed.
