Jarrón - Bambú - Japón (Sin precio de reserva)

Artwork Description This is a refined Japanese bamboo flower basket (Hanakago) created by the bamboo craftsman Yumetake (夢竹). The basket is meticulously woven using fine bamboo strips, demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship and precision. Such finely crafted bamboo baskets are known to develop a deeper character and patina over time, gradually maturing into flower vessels of increasing beauty as the bamboo ages. Decorative red-dyed bamboo with subtle marbled patterns is incorporated into the design, creating an elegant contrast with the warm natural tones of the bamboo. Delicately carved wooden handles on both sides enhance the sculptural presence of the piece, reflecting a refined sense of balance and traditional aesthetics. The basket is fitted with a ceramic inner container (otoshi), allowing it to be used immediately for fresh flower arrangements while protecting the bamboo structure. This combination of functionality and artistry makes the piece suitable both for ikebana practice and for decorative display in a tokonoma or interior setting. The underside of the basket foot bears the artist’s signature “Yumetake (夢竹)”, clearly confirming this as an authentic, signed work by the artist. Based on the materials, design, and construction, the basket is estimated to date from the late Shōwa to early Heisei period (approximately 1970s–1990s). This flower basket represents an excellent example of modern Japanese bamboo craft, valued not only for its beauty at present, but also for its ability to grow richer in character with time. ⸻ Size • Height: 27.5 cm • Width: 16.5 cm • Depth: 16.5 cm ⸻ Weight • 507 g ⸻ Condition The basket is in very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age and gentle wear consistent with natural bamboo materials are present, contributing to its character. There are no cracks, loose weaving, or structural issues. The ceramic inner container is also in good condition. ⸻ Artist Profile Yumetake (夢竹) is a Japanese bamboo craftsman known for creating elegant flower baskets that emphasize refined form, balance, and the natural beauty of bamboo. His signed works are appreciated by collectors of Japanese craft for both their craftsmanship and their ability to develop deeper character over time.
