Thomas Rowlandson (1756 - 1827)
Thomas Rowlandson was a prolific and famous English Artist and book illustrator.
The lot contains 5 etchings and 3 lithographs by Thomas Rowlandson. The etchings were published posthumously by his son Joseph in 1842. Each etching is hand coloured with clear plate marks.
The etchings are all on identical laid paper with the largest image being 22cm x 15.5cm.
The etchings are in good or very good condition, with strong colours, but do have handling creases throughout and other light marks that do not affect the images, with the exception of the 'Miser' which has rubbing to the top right corner area.
The 3 chromolithographs are in very good condition, with damaged printed overlays suggesting they come from an antique German publication of unknown date. The largest - Das Konzert - has an image size of 20.5cm x 16.3cm.
