The reverse features the famous words from Emma Lazarus’ poem “The New Colossus”, closely associated with Ellis Island and the history of immigration to the United States: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” This coin was struck in Proof quality at the San Francisco Mint (S), featuring mirrored fields and frosted details, and was specially produced for collectors.
