In 1967, Sergio Manetti purchased two hectares of land in Radda in Chianti and decided to produce wine. In 1971, he presented his wine at the Vinitaly tasting booth. It was a resounding success, prompting him to invest fully in this winemaking project. With the help of Giulio Gambelli and Bruno Bini, he planted several more hectares, and his project took hold, becoming one of the most renowned wineries in Tuscany today. The 1998 Montevertine Riserva opens with aromas of plum, tobacco, and black pepper, surprising the palate with acidity and great structure. It has an unforgettable, long-lasting finish.
