A piece of amber from Myanmar, very stunning, containing multiple lacewings with their wings spread out.
Myanmar amber, also known as Burmese amber, is a fossilized resin primarily found in the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life, including insects, plants, and other organisms often trapped inside. This amber is estimated to be about 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It has a rich golden-yellow color with reddish-brown tones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists, offering a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
