Descripción del vendedor
Celtic Bronze Bracelet – 1st Millennium BC– 62 mm – 27.16 g
An impressive and ancient bronze bracelet from the European Celtic world, dating from the Late Bronze Age to the early Iron Age (1st Millennium BC). Cast in a solid band with gently tapered terminals, the piece displays a smooth surface enriched by an attractive green-blue patina, the result of millennia of burial. Its robust construction and minimalist elegance reflect both function and aesthetic sensibility in early Celtic metalwork.
Such bracelets were often worn as personal adornment but also carried symbolic or ritual significance, possibly indicating status or tribal identity. This example, with its substantial weight and timeworn texture, stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and cultural depth of pre-Roman Europe. Rarely do such early examples survive in this condition.
• Material: Bronze
• Dimensions: Internal diameter approx. 62 mm; width approx. 10 mm
• Weight: 27.16 g
• Date: 1st Millennium BC
• Condition: Very good; encrusted patina, minor surface wear; structurally intact
An evocative artefact from prehistoric Europe, echoing the enduring legacy of Celtic craftsmanship.
Provenance: Acquired in 2025 in Germany, from an old private German collection acquired in the 1980s.
