Five natural Burmese amber specimens, very well preserved, containing beetles, spiders, and cockroaches!
Burmese amber, also known as Myanmar amber, is a fossilized tree resin mainly found in the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. It is famous for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life, including insects, plants, and other organisms often trapped within it. This amber is estimated to be about 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It has a rich golden color with reddish-brown tones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists alike, providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
We use PE boxes to store each piece of amber, ensuring their safety and ease of collection. The images of these insects were taken under a magnifying glass; please refer to the size information in the pictures below.
