Máscara ceremonial tallada - Bambara - Mali (Sin precio de reserva)
A beautiful hand-carved wooden mask, made by the Bambara in Mali. The Bambara believe in the existence of spiritual forces that are activated by individuals capable of creating an atmosphere of harmony, prosperity, and well-being. Initiation is practiced within associations of men more or less present according to the villages: the n'tomo, which governs community life, the komo, which governs moral offenses, and the twi wara, which brings together young people and farmers
This is an exceptionally fine mask, carved of one block of solid wood with fine, incised lines running throughout. Such masks are thought to have been used by boys during the annual harvest ceremony.
33 cm high
13.5 X 9 cm
Overall, very good condition with wear consistent with age. A beautiful mask with a strong presence
