Very elegant Edo period Maedate for a kabuto
The maedate is made from shinchu and features the famous tomoe mon. I bought the piece from a Japanese antiques dealer who specializes in arms and armor. It is an authentic Edo-period piece and not a modern-day replica. The brass adapter that comes with it was custom-made by a Japanese craftsman.
Condition: The condition is very reasonable.
I have also added a smaller maedate which seems to have been made for a miniature helmet.
