His collaborations with contemporary photographer Guy Bourdin for French Vogue garnered significant attention. His innovative compositions, captivating narratives, and elegant yet sometimes provocative and sensual images have captivated countless fans. Exhibitions of his work have been held frequently in Japan since the 1980s and again after 2000. This book features images shot in Budapest, Hungary, and Bali, Indonesia, with model Kumiko Goto, known as “Gokumi.” They express her charm, beauty, strength, and even a hint of fear in multifaceted ways. Costumes were handled by Michiko Kitamura, renowned as both a stylist and costume designer.
